Embracing Generative AI While Keeping Student Writing Real

Our systems analysis approach to restructuring the K-12 writing class promises to make student writing better than ever. Thanks to generative AI tools, teachers can be liberated from busy work, so that they can concentrate on creating helpful and frequent writing assignments. We will discuss the threats and promises of generative AI, what tools like ChatGPT, Bard, Bing, etc., can do now, and we will explore ideas for getting the minds and bodies of our students back ‘into the action.'”
